Principal's Message
Thank you for visiting the web page for Coventry Junior High School. We are very excited about the 2010-2011 school year! I am proud of the excellent educational and support staff that interacts with your child daily.
We are all very excited about our greatly improved test results on the 09-10 Ohio Achievement Assessments. These scores reflect the hard work of our students and teaching staff. Special thanks to our Curriculum Department who helped us implement short-cycle assessments last year in our 8th grade. Through these assessments, we were able to provide intervention to all students in our core subject areas.
Our teachers continually work to improve the delivery of classroom instruction, while seeking the highest level of student achievement. Communication between school and home is imperative to this success. If at any time you feel the need to discuss your child’s achievement, please contact our staff through e-mail, or by leaving a message in the office. Please remember that you have daily access to all your students’ grades, attendance and some classroom assignments through Progress Book (accessed through our website). Each student received a school planner at pre-registration. Please be sure to check it often to help your student stay organized!
We also believe that school needs to be more than just academics. Therefore, we offer many clubs and activities. Please check out our website to see some of those opportunities. Help us encourage your child to make school an all-around experience by being involved!
The challenges facing your child increase each year. It is important that we become a team! Please take an active role in your child’s education by monitoring their homework assignments, asking them what they are learning, and staying on top of their grades. Together we can achieve success for every student!!
We are all looking forward to a successful and exciting 2010-2011 school year!!
Sincerely,
Cindy McDonald, Principal
