Welcome to summer! I hope you are able to get caught up on some family time, enjoy a trip, go swimming, camping, attend ball games or soccer matches or just sit back and relax during this break from school. I know that while the students are on summer break a lot of work goes on behind the scenes to get ready for next school year. Every building is being cleaned and spruced up for the next group of students arriving in the fall. Maintenance is hard at work repairing things and attempting to keep up with the needed mowing at all of our buildings. The administrators are working on scheduling and placements for the next school year and many of our teachers are enrolled in summer classes to continue their quest to grow and learn during their off months. A tremendous amount of cooperation and coordination takes place over the next several months to prepare for the opening of school. Most of our school offices are open until June 18th from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. If you have a question and can not reach someone, please call the Board of Education office at 330-644-8489 and speak with Vicki or leave a message and we will get back with you.

This past year ended with a huge positive as our district was one of the very few across the state to successfully pass a levy for new money. What a compliment to our community and what a great show of support for our schools. We realize that many people will be watching very closely how we spend our money and what we are doing to keep our district financially sound. This levy has allowed us to maintain our programs and not have to cut a number of positions that were slated to be eliminated. We pledge to continue to spend wisely and move our district towards excellence. Thank you again for your support!
This August we will be attempting to streamline our registration program and hopefully make things easier for parents, especially those of you with students at several different buildings.  The registration dates are as follows:
August 11, 2010 from 8:30 am until 10:30 am and from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Coventry High School, this registration program is for all schools and representatives from the Treasurer’s office will be on hand to collect fees for all schools.  It is our goal to have the ability to use a credit card machine at this registration. Also spirit wear will be available for purchase on this date as well.
August 12, 2010 registration will be from noon until 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Coventry High School and will again be for all schools. Credit cards will also be accepted at this registration.
August 13, 2010 registration will be held at the individual schools from 8:30 am until 10:30 am as well as from noon until 2:00 pm. Credit Card service will not be available at this registration.
Applications for Free and Reduced Lunch will also be available at all registrations.
If you have any questions, please call your building principal by June 18th or wait until August 5th to contact a school representative. Thank you for your support and we hope this helps take some of the burden off of our parents in getting ready for a new school year.
Enjoy your summer! See you in August.
